The Gujarat government has launched the country’s first blockchain-integrated land and property registry system in Gandhinagar and Ahmedabad districts. This digital ledger ensures tamper-proof, timestamped, and transparent property transactions. Citizens can verify property details and chain of ownership online using a unique ID. The government claims this will end land fraud, reduce litigation, and eliminate duplicate entries. Plans are in place to roll this out statewide by 2026. Legal experts and real estate bodies have welcomed the move as a transformative step in land governance.
